Patient Safety in the Practice

New Testing Criteria

Testing will not be done unless you have fever AND cough or short of breath
OR Any respiratory symptom AND in contact with confirmed or probable Covid case
AND you are a healthcare worker or have a chronic illness or a household contact of an at-risk group or staff/ resident in a long-term care facility or pregnant (not because of an increased risk but because of need to attend appointments or deliver!).

If you do not fit the above, then:
If you have some symptoms of a respiratory infection, you should stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days from the start of your symptoms, the last 5 days of which should be without fever.
Household contacts should also restrict their movements for 14 days after you go into self isolation.
Go to https://www.hpsc.ie/a-z/respiratory/coronavirus/novelcoronavirus/guidance/selfisolationathome/ for more info.
If you still think you fit the criteria for testing, please ring us on 01-2877235 and we will arrange a further triage.
Thanks for your help with this.
Take care out there.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jmg86CRBBtw
Be safe.
All the best.
The Team at Greystones Harbour Family Practice

We have taken all steps to maximise patient and staff safety in the Practice

We have increased time between appointments

We are bringing patients straight in from their cars to the consultation room so they are no more than 4 patient sitting in the waiting room at any one time.

We have reduced the number of chairs in the waiting room so that there is at least two metres between patients, if you have to wait.

We are seeing people with respiratory or covid-type symptoms at the end of clinical sessions.

All Clinical staff wear masks and practice hand hygiene.

We require all visitors to the Practice to wear masks and practice hand hygiene on entry.
